My household currently consists of my dog, Cody, and *gasp* 9 cats. Their names are listed in order of appearance: Lucky, Kitty, Silly,
Tuxie, Handsome, Sweetpea, Metoo, Lovebug and Whisper.
I had Lucky, Kitty and Silly prior to moving to my home in 2005. They were strays that found me when I lived in Worthington.
Tuxie was left behind when her owners moved. Luckily, I had a job in her apartment complex that week.
Handsome was a feral kitten that lived in my front bushes prior to terrible winter weather. It took me a week to snag him. Now he is living the good life.
Sweetpea and Metoo I found when I had a job at The Farms. They both lived in a ravine. Sweetpea was my original target,
however, Metoo was a feral cat that clung onto her. Hence, Metoo. I could not leave her behind. For 3 months I fed them
twice a day. I remember sitting in my home during a terrible August storm and could not stop thinking about how they were
suffering. I knew I had to go over there and bring them home. To this day, I do not know how I snagged Metoo. I knew I
had one shot at it or she would never trust me again. Divine intervention.
Lovebug was left behind in another apartment complex in 2007. He lived 7 months on the street. The apartment manager told me
she was going to take him to die..so he came home on 10/31/07.
Whisper showed up in my garage prior to the blizzard in 2007. I always leave my garage door cracked open during the winter, so
any poor souls can have shelter. I still can't believe it. I opened up the door, she came in and I couldn't be more grateful.
Cody has been my girl since I rescued her from her life on a chain in 1993. Cody passed away in April of 2009. My home is
very lonesome without her.
I do need to give a shout out to Keeper. He lived on a chain his entire life..until I heard about him. He was the neatest dude.
He lived with us a year and then had to be put down due to the cancer that had invaded his body. I'm just happy that he
experienced an awesome year and learned what it was like to be loved.
